The Kitchen House & Culinary Garden is an edible education experience for kids in the community to learn how to grow and cook healthy foods. On Wednesday Marci Arthur had the pleasure of being one of six judges for the Kids Cook with Heart Challenge at the Kitchen House & Culinary Garden. In this event there were five teams of children and each team had a local chef as their leader. The kids and chefs have been meeting after school once a week at the Kitchen House for four weeks to learn everything before the fifth week challange. Each team cooked the same meal and were judged on knife skills, presentation, taste, execution, creativity and teamwork. After critiquing and tasting each meal, it was the green team that took home the trophy.

The Kitchen House & Culinary Garden was brought to life by the Orlando Junior Academy and the non-for-profit, Emeril Lagasse Foundation. The Kids Cook with Heart Challenge was brought to the Kitchen House by the American Heart Association of Orlando and Orlando Health.
