½ cup butter

2 cups self rising flour

2 cups sugar

2 cups milk – (whole)

3-1/2 cups fresh blackberries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. When oven is at 350 degrees, place 13 x 9-inch baking pan in oven with butter. Allow butter to melt.

  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, sugar and milk; batter will be slightly lumpy. Pour batter on top of butter in baking pan. DO NOT mix butter and batter together.
  2. Drop blackberries into batter, if more crust is desired and less blackberries.
  3. Bake in oven for one hour or until golden brown. This needs vanilla ice cream to go with it for perfection.
