GOAT CHEESE MARINARA WITH HERB TOAST 1 (15-ounce) jar marinara sauce 1 (4-ounce) log goat cheese 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1/2-inch slices 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon oregano – see note below 1/2 teaspoon basil – we will use 1 teaspoon of Herbs de Provence for oregano & basil 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Pour marinara sauce into decorative ovenproof baking dish. Place coat cheese in the center; set aside. Place bread slices in large zip lock bag. Drizzle olive oil over bread slices. Sprinkle garlic powder, herbs de Provence, salt and pepper over bread. Seal bag and shake well to coat bread slices with olive oil and seasonings. Arrange bread slices on parchment covered baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees until brown and crispy. Remove bread slices. Increase oven temperature to broil. Broil cheese and marinara until cheese is slightly blackened and marinara is bubbly. Serve with toasted bread. Serves 8
