SPICY NUTS SPICY NUTS
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons sugar
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/3 cup sliced almonds
1/3 cup pecans, rough chop
1/3 cup walnuts, rough chop
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
- Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add sugar and cayenne, pepper and salt and mix well.
- Stir in nuts. Cook until nuts begin to brown, stirring constantly.
- Spread nuts on a tray covered with parchment paper. Chill in refrigerator until set and cooled.
- Sprinkle over salads with dried fruit, fresh berries, goat cheese ar blue cheese.
- Store tightly covered, in refrigerator for one week or freeze in a zip lock for up to a month.
